This course uses the knowledge gained in the courses "Computer Workshop" and "Programming I" to enable students to design and develop windows-based applications with visual programming tools. The knowledge gained in this course will be applied to the courses "Multimedia Technology" and "Final Year Project".

Major topics include data file and simple database, screen design with the form designer, report writer, menu builder, system integration and application building.

Objectives

On completion of this course students should be able to:

acquire the important concepts of visual design and development techniques;

develop an assigned commercial application system using event-driven approach;

prepare test data and perform program testing and system testing;

prepare system documentation and user manual;

perform system demonstration.
